In 1991 Farben Wahl was founded as a retail firm in Amstetten. As a result of the fast business development, a conversion of the firm into a GesmbH (Limited Company) appeared to make sense already in 1996.
Literal problem solving power, innovative design of the range and clever expansion and investment policies had increased the amount of business in now 16 branches considerably and made a small family business into the biggest and, with a perfect distribution net for almost 5 million Austrians, the most comprehensive colour expert, as well as wholesale trader between Vienna and Salzburg
By now, 76 employees look after the constantly growing number of customers of end-users and processors.

Originally specialising in niche products that did not appear to be of interest to larger colour trading chains, due to the segment and the intensity of advice being small, the range was soon expanded.
Meanwhile, Farben Wahl can present itself as a full-service provider in the areas colour and technology. The company philosophy’s focus is on professional competence.
Ongoing training and further training events for all employees show how seriously the firm’s Leifmotif \”We know what we talk about when advising you,\” is taken.
Farben Wahl mixes over 350,000 colour tones for immediate collection, solvent-free and environmentally friendly, which can be restocked at any time in various qualities.
