In addition, emporia offers web-based train-the-trainer courses and learning videos. In addition, emporia offers fixed-line phones, accessories and smart health products.
emporia Telecom was founded in 1991 and is now represented in more than 30 countries. It currently sells 600,000 smartphones and keypad phones annually, and its latest annual revenue was 30 million euros (fiscal year 2019/2020). The sole owner is Eveline Pupeter, who runs the company together with an experienced management team. emporia employs 110 people. The company is headquartered in Linz on the Danube. Other locations are Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Milan, Paris and Shenzhen (China).
emporia Telecom is the only company in the world to offer an overall concept for the target group of elderly people with devices suitable for senior citizens, training concepts and a comprehensive training book in paper form.
The mission that drives the company is the digitization of the older generation. In Austria, one million seniors aged 65+ (EU: 52 million) are excluded from digital applications such as online banking, digital public office, buying ÖBB tickets online or contactless payment at the supermarket because they do not own a smartphone or cannot handle it. For the sole owner Eveline Pupeter, this is “a social scandal” and she calls for building the bridge to the digital future for the elderly. For her commitment, Eveline Pupeter was awarded the Silver Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria by the Austrian President in 2019.
