{"id":29937,"date":"2016-05-20T15:26:00","date_gmt":"2016-05-20T13:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/leitbetriebe.at\/en\/?p=29937"},"modified":"2021-01-19T15:42:46","modified_gmt":"2021-01-19T14:42:46","slug":"austrian-companies-overcompliant-with-international-sanctions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/leitbetriebe.at\/en\/austrian-companies-overcompliant-with-international-sanctions\/","title":{"rendered":"Austrian companies &#8220;overcompliant&#8221; with international sanctions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Restraint with regard to permitted business with sanctioned markets<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Foreign Ministry intends to offer more services for companies<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>More and more companies becoming involved outside the traditional Austrian export markets<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Sanctions imposed by the UN and EU are still a significant burden for the Austrian export industry: At a round-table discussion between Foreign Ministry representatives and Austrian companies, which was organised by the Foreign Ministry together with the excellence platform Leitbetriebe Austria with the title \u201cT\u00fcr\u00f6ffner zum Weltmarkt\u201d (<em>Opening doors to the world market<\/em>), the participants complained of lasting reductions in their business volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of this is not due to sanctions in the narrow sense, explained envoy Lucia Kronsteiner from the sanctions unit of the Foreign Ministry. \u201cWe often observe \u201aover-compliance\u2018, i.e. companies that over-comply with the provisions of the sanctions regime and are unnecessarily restrained with regard to permitted business.
