The Energy segment is the Company’s core business and includes all stages of the value chain of the electricity business, from generation and distribution to purchase and sale as well as the areas of natural gas and heat.
Energie AG Oberösterreich is a provider of electricity, gas, heat, water and waste disposal as well as information and communication technology services. As an infrastructure group, it supplies more than 450,000 customers with electricity via the 32,000 km long high and low voltage network, with natural gas via the 5,600 km long underground pipeline network and with data in a highspeed level via the 5,800 km long fiber optic network. Energie AG generates part of the electricity in 43 hydroelectric power plants, 11 thermal power plants and recycling plants, 84 photovoltaic systems (including contracting and decentralized community power plants) and 13 wind power plants according to the highest ecological standards.
In addition, more than 1 million residents in Upper Austria and the Czech Republic are supplied with the best drinking water. Energie AG Oberösterreich is also a reliable partner in the field of telecommunications and operates a significant part of the telecommunications structure in Upper Austria. High-quality and sustainable waste disposal and water services are offered throughout Austria for municipalities, commercial and industrial customers.
