The company was incorporated on the 10th of November 1989 under the name of R. STAHL GesmbH., Conveyor Technology, in Linz and was incorporated as a 100% subsidiary of the R. STAHL Germany, a global corporation in the sector conveyor technology.

In 1992, the company relocated from Linz to Steyregg where the construction, production, installation and services were continuously expanded. In early 2006, a worldwide strategic reorientation of the global group led to the formation of the STAHL CraneSystems GmbH.

In May of 2009, the company AUSTRIAN CRANE SYSTEMS GMBH was founded through an MBO. Herbert Lehner, experienced crane builder, employed in the company since 1991, took over the company management in 2003. Since May 2009, he is the main shareholder of AUSTRIAN CRANE SYSTEMS. His specialty is to build in-house developments such as the RADIO CRANE "MADE IN AUSTRIA", other fully automated systems and to further develop and market other concepts.
