Auto aufladen in der Kaffeepause

E-mobility is the most important trend in mobility at present. A dense network of charging stations is indispensable for electric cars to gain acceptance in practice. ABB, the European market leader for high-speed charging stations, recently sold the 100th charging station in Austria to charging infrastructure provider SMATRICS. With the high-speed charging stations, charging times of 20 minutes, during a coffee break or while shopping, have already become a reality.

In a joint press conference ABB, SMATRICS and Verbund presented their plans to advance the supply of electric charging stations in the coming years. To further develop the network partnerships are planned with companies such as McDonald’s and Rewe. High-speed charging systems are to established in public transport as well. “We are working closely with partners from IT and the automotive industry to play a pioneering role in high-speed charging for buses”, says ABB CEO Franz Chalupecky.

Moreover, Austrian e-mobility is twice as environmentally friendly because the electricity for the SMATRICS charging station is produced using hydropower from VERBUND.
