Hagleitner

Hagleitner designs hygiene: cleaning, disinfectant and care products, cosmetics – plus dispensers, dosing units and apps. The products are made in Zell am See in Austria. This is where Hagleitner has its headquarters and it is where research, development and production take place. At the same time, the company has consulting, sales and logistics centres and operates at 27 locations in twelve European countries. Products are also available in 66 countries worldwide through partners.

Hagleitner’s offering is geared towards businesses and public institutions. The hagi brand is aimed at consumers.

Around 1,300 people are employed by Hagleitner altogether. The Group recently achieved a turnover of 170 million euro, based on the result of the financial year running from April 2024 to 2025. The export quota makes up 45 percent of this.

Family

Hagleitner has been around since 1971 and has always been a family-run business. Johann and Katharina Hagleitner lay the foundation stone. Son Hans Georg up the reins in 1988; his wife Brigitte plays an active role in the company. Hans Georg and Brigitte have two daughters, Katharina and Stefanie. The two have been managing the company since 1 April 2025 – at first together with Hans Georg.

  • Katharina is responsible for direct sales and sales support. She also oversees human resources and the Hagleitner Academy. Katharina is also involved in finance, controlling and IT.
  • Stefanie has dedicated herself to the product and manages its entire life cycle, from the initial idea to recycling. Stefanie is in charge of research and development, product management, the supply chain, production including infrastructure, quality assurance and marketing.
  • Hans Georg now focusses entirely on global business. This revolves around large retail chains and international distributors – and Hagleitner as a manufacturer for third parties.

Hans Georg will be stepping down from this role as well by March 2026, when Katharina and Stefanie take over the reins at Hagleitner together (Stefanie is to replace Hans Georg in global business in future).

Products and services

Made in Austria

Three production divisions are combined in Zell am See:

  • The chemical-technical part produces hygiene products. These are disinfectants, including medical products. Soap, shower gel, moisturiser and body lotion are also produced here. Hagleitner makes professional cleaning, laundry, care and dishwashing products – as well as room fragrances.
  • The paper plant converts raw paper into hygienic paper to make toilet paper and paper towels.
  • High-tech comes to life in dispenser construction with devices that deliver hygiene and transmit data. Hygiene means soap, paper, skin care, disinfectants, cleaners, and room fragrances. Data means dispensing quantity, fill level and energy status. Hagleitner not only assembles the dispensers, but also creates most of the components itself – injection moulding is used to shape device components on site.

Research and knowledge

Hagleitner has its own chemical laboratory on site. Hagleitner develops digital applications on site. These apps provide configurable hygiene, real-time information and knowledge.

Furthermore, the company runs a training facility – the Hagleitner Academy. This is also located at Zell am See; the hygiene courses are organised for employees, partners and customers.
